What’s the cost?

Government Fees:

• $56 USD – Application Study Fee: Payable within 10 calendar days after submitting the application.
• $279 USD – Visa Issuance Fee: Payable only if approved, within 10 calendar days of approval.
• 294,000 COP – Cedula de Extranjeria Fee: Current general rate, payable during the cedula process after visa approval

Government fees are are not included in our service fee and must be paid in addition, directly by the applicant to the government and are subject to change. You will be informed of any updates before payment of government fees. Please note that Government Fees are subject to change without notice and we are unable to guarantee the cost of the fees. Government Fees are excluded from our Service Guarantee

The Process

1. Documents & Our Service Fee – Complete our document form and payment for your service fee
2. Submission – We prepare and submit your application to the government (1–2 days)
3. Application Fee Payment – Process your Application fee from the government payment link provided (your timing)
4. Review – Government processing (3–4 weeks)
5. Additional Documents – Every application is different, if additional documents are required, we will notify you (optional)
6. Completion Status – Visa Status is provided, Approved, Denied or Rejected. If Approved, you will need to pay the Visa Issuance Fee
7. Cedula Process – If your visa is for longer than 6 months, we will create an appointment and complete your Cedula form. You will need to attend the appointment for photo and registration, and pay the Cedula Issuance Fee, once completed within a few weeks, you will have your Cedula in your hands.

The Requirements

• Nationality eligible under Colombia’s Mercosur residence agreement and applicable reciprocity rules, including citizens of Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. Eligibility will be confirmed before submission.

• Valid passport with at least six months remaining, in good condition, plus a copy of the personal information page.
• Recent digital photograph, 3 cm wide by 4 cm high, with a white background, in JPG format, maximum 300 KB.
• Latest Colombian entry stamp or equivalent entry authorization, plus evidence of legal immigration status if applying from Colombia.
• Previous Colombian visa and cedula, if applicable.
• Application letter requesting temporary residence under the Mercosur agreement, explaining your planned activities in Colombia and how you will support yourself financially.
• Criminal background certificate from the country or countries where you lived during the previous three years, with an apostille or legalization and an official Spanish translation where required.
• Supporting financial documents, such as bank statements or income certificates, if requested to substantiate your means of support.
• Evidence of legal residence in the country of application, where applicable, if applying through a Colombian consulate abroad.

Supporting certificates generally must have been issued within the three months before submission. Authentication requirements may differ when applying through a Colombian consulate in your country of origin. We will confirm the requirements for your case. The government may request additional documents or information.
